The Sisters
There once lived seven sisters who were all in love with the same man. A king, who ruled over a wide and prosperous land. Unable to choose between them, the king divided his kingdom into seven equal parts, and upon his death left each sister a section.
Samira took her position most seriously, and established a council of advisers to help her rule. However, being the eldest, she was not used to having her judgement and decisions questioned, and quickly lost patience with any attempt to guide her. She had her advisers put to death, and anyone who dared oppose her suffered the same fate.
Alivia, lover of all things rich and expensive, basked in her newly acquired wealth. She spent her years collecting anything and everything that struck her fancy, taxing her subjects more and more in order to sponsor her luxurious pursuits. When the funds of her people dried up and they could no longer meet her demands, she sold them all to neighbouring dominions so her extravagant hoarding could continue.
Lizeth, now free of her sisters constant presence, opened her legs and bed to anyone that would have her, man or woman. She gave into carnal desires, becoming addicted to the feelings of pleasure they bred. She kept her favourite lovers with her always, secluded to one wing of the castle, as slaves to her every passionate impulse.
Imani, never satisfied, was impaired by her jealousy of her sisters. She had no desire to rule her own land, and instead set her sites on emulating the other six. When it finally dawned on her that she would never have what her sisters had, she burnt her castle and her domain to the ground.
Grecia, who’d never had a taste for simple foods, found a whole new world of extravagant dishes suddenly within her grasp. Endless feasting soon drained her realm of its wealth and resources. And when her subjects came to her with complaints of starvation and famine, they too fell victim to her insatiable appetite.
Ivanna remained bitter that the king had not chosen her and her alone. Unable to take her hatred out on her sisters, she focused her attention on expanding her empire. Countless invasions of distant countries soon took its toll on her people, but conquest and victory were now her sole purpose.
And Amaris, the youngest, did absolutely nothing at all.
